    EU-Central Asia International Cooperation Barometer

    The InoNet CA project is conducting a survey about the framework conditions and cooperation opportunities of STI in general and more particularly between the EU and the Central Asian countries. With the related questionnaire, addressing the five countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan), we would like to measure the development of potentials of bi-regional Science, Technology and Innovation cooperation over time. The survey will be repeated after 15 months to get comparative data for analysis.

    Call for Scientific Evaluators for Benchmarking of Energy related Research Organisations in Central Asia

    The IncoNet CA project is conducting a benchmarking exercise of research organisations in Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) working in the field of energy. For the implementation of this benchmarking exercise we are looking for experienced experts from the field of energy with profound research management and research strategy analysis capabilities, who will act as scientific evaluators under this benchmarking exercise.

    Grant Scheme to facilitate the Participation of Central Asian Countries in the ASEAN-EU STI Days 2015 in Paris

    This grant scheme will financially support the participation of local researchers from Central Asian countries in the ASEAN-EU STI Days 2015, on 17-19 March 2015, in Paris (http://www.stidays.net/). The thematic priorities of the call are the two Societal Challenges HEALTH (more precisely Infectious Diseases or Chronic Lung Diseases) and ENVIRONMENT (Water-Energy-Food Nexus or Water Management under Climate Uncertainty). There will be 1 grant per country per Societal Challenge available.

    Participation of Central Asian researchers in the SET-Plan Conference and visit to the ENEA Research Centre

    The IncoNet EaP and IncoNet CA projects promote international STI cooperation and research policy dialogue between the EU and its member states on the one hand, and the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia Countries on ther other. One of the projects' tasks is to collaborate with EU Innovation Platforms. In this context the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE) organised the participation of innovative EaP and CA energy researchers in the 2014 SET Plan Conference. The event was held in Rome on 10-11 December under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the European Union.

    Workshop on the 'Enterprise Europe Network' held in Uzbekistan

    The Indo-Uzbek Center for Promotion of Science and Technology Cooperation held a workshop about the Enterprise Europe Network on 28 October at the Miran International Hotel in Tashkent. Representatives of the European Union, young scientists from research institutes and experts of SMEs from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, participated in the event. The aim of the Workshop was to reflect successful examples of cooperation of Central Asian (CA) countries with the Enterprise Europe Network and to propose ways to extend the network in CA countries.

    Grant Scheme to facilitate the Participation of Central Asian Countries in EU Brokerage Events

    This grant scheme will financially support the participation of local researchers from Central Asian countries in large-scale brokerage events and other similar activities related to Horizon2020 in the EU Members States or Associated Countries. The thematic priorities of the call are the three Societal Challenges, targeted by the project, namely Health, Energy and Climate Change. Updated information now available.

    Our 'Twinning Grants' will support collaboration with your partners to jointly participate in Horizon2020 calls. Twinning is a core activity of IncoNet CA and has a long tradition in Europe as a successful instrument in capacity building processes.

    EU-Central Asia STI Policy Stakeholders' Conference on Climate Change

    The Policy Stakeholders Conference (PSC) on 'EU-Central Asia STI Cooperation in addressing Climate Change', hosted by the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Library of Kyrgyzstan, was held in Bishkek on 23-24 September 2014. It was the first in a series of policy dialogue activities between the EU and CA organised under the IncoNet CA project.

  • 12.03.2014 - 13.03.2014 | Istanbul, Turkey

    Regional Training for Central Asian NCPs held in Istanbul

    A training activity for National Contact Points (NCPs) in Central Asian countries was organised by TÜBİTAK in Istanbul on 12-13 March 2014 under Task 4.3 'Promotion of Horizon2020' of the IncoNet CA Project. 14 NCPs from 5 Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenisatan and Kyrgyzistan) and 4 trainers attended the event. Representatives of experienced EU MS/AC NCPs gave presentations about the role of National Contact Points within 'Horizon2020', the EU's current framework programme for research and innovation. Active participation of the trainees were promoted by organising group activities.

    Horizon 2020 Info Days in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

    Three successful Info Days on 'Horizon 2020' – the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – informed the science communities of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan about funding tools, upcoming calls and other opportunities for international cooperation.     Two new policy dialogue projects between the EU and Central Asia/the Eastern Partnership countries launched

    Two new projects, 'IncoNet EaP' (STI International Cooperation Network for Eastern Partnership Countries) and 'IncoNet CA'  (STI International Cooperation Network for Central Asian Countries) started with a joint kick-off event in Athens on 18-20 September 2013.
